Medical Common Operating Picture (MedCOP) provides leaders, with advanced decision-support tools, real-time medical information-sharing capability, and a shared medical dashboard, enabling them to manage enterprise-wide health services that support the full range of military operations including actionable information during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The challenge
From a very high level - design an application that addresses the need to track and input data within the military medical community. The initial focus targeting three types users and their use cases ranging from organizational to information consuming and data input capabilities.
Results
A huge contract award and win for our company’s division. MedCOP was the first medical application introduced to Novetta’s application suite and their first footprints in the DHA and DoD Medical Command and Control & Situational Awareness community.

Looking back
A lot of patience was involved in the making of this app. not to worry, no one was harmed.
I worked directly with the Vice President of this division to curate the designs involved in the pitch and win of this significant contract. In that time, I faced the realities of addressing the urgency of COVID-19, working in the agile environment of an eight-week delivery turnaround of initial deployment to stakeholders. This application is constantly iterating, testing and incorporating new requirements to better itself and its mission to support the Joint Operational Medicine Information Systems (JOMIS) community.

My time at Novetta has been a chapter of great purpose in my career. Novetta challenged me to become a leader, to find my voice and advocate for design beyond the interface. As the first and only UX designer during this time, I’ve elevated the way the division, the customers and developers understand and use design. Design is much more respected and valued because of my contributions. I’ve impacted the lives of many and worked with developers to truly create products that did - and continue to do - good.
